Opa was born in Holland in 1954 and migrated to Australia in 1978. Happily married with three grown up children and (currently) 7 grand children Rafael (born 2013) and Caroline (born 2015) Bennett (Born 2017) who now live in Sydney after many years in Washington DC – and twin boys Christo and Jonty (born 2016) Araminta (Born 2019) living in Sydney and Gideon (Born 2019) living in Washington DC. OpaSings is an exercise of creating a very special relationship with (distant) grand kids by singing and playing musical instruments. It’s a personal experiment and so far it’s been an outstanding success. All of the grand kids now respond back with their own performances and have concerts with Opa!. This is an evolving project designed to extend and stretch Opa’s comfort zones. Each month Opa will try and do a few performances and obtain audience feedback. Who knows Opa could be painting and dancing next year? Whatever it will be it will be fun for many people within and outside the immediate family!
